The 4gune Cluster held its annual meeting on 25th February.

The 4gune Cluster Annual Meeting was held last February, in which its actions throughout 2020 were reviewed and the next steps to maintain the positive evolution and growing impact of the Cluster were presented. This year’s meeting, which was held in an on-line format, included the participation of all of the members of the Cluster.

The major projects that are underway were detailed in the meeting. Among them, the map of capacities can be highlighted, as all of the necessary actions to update its initial version were structured throughout 2020, including the redrafting of the taxonomy in accordance with the PCTI 2030 and the Smart Industry Plan.

It is also worth noting the success of the Business + University Programme, particularly the increasing involvement of companies and university centres which led to 13 joint projects kicking off in 2020. It is also important to mention the internationalisation of the Business + University Programme following the signature of a collaboration agreement with Siemens Gamesa and Aalborg University to develop the Megaproject initiative, as well as the kick-off of the technical cooperation project with the strategic region of Wales based on the transfer of knowledge and experiences between 4gune and Cardiff University.

Finally, 4gune will foster the first training programme given jointly by various cluster’s university centres. It is a programme adapted to the demands of Basque companies in terms of Smart Specialisation and aimed particularly at management profiles.

In short, 2020 was a year of consolidation and new impetus for the 4gune Cluster and 2021 will bring a number of ambitious challenges.
