Description

This challenge aimed to generate knowledge on new advanced manufacturing technologies that could transform production factories by using various levers for change: Agility (flexibility and versatility of plants), robustness (FTF, CPK, defective, self-controls, online inspection systems), supply chain (physical logistics), process intelligence (Big Data, multivariate modelling), human intelligence (visual factory oriented to decision making) and digital intelligence (automatic data capture, real-time monitoring, etc.).

The overall objectives of the proposed challenge were as follows:

•    Generation of knowledge on the incorporation of intelligence in production systems and media.
•    Leveraging emerging technologies and capabilities in new products and processes.
•    The efficiency and sustainability of the resources employed.
